Handcrafted in Solingen, Germany, this handsome time-tested Boker Swiss Fixed Blade is approximately 14 1/4 inches long (total) and weighs approximately 9.9 ounces. The handle is Black, Hand Selected Ebony Wood with a high polished stainless steel hand guard and pommel. The Hand guard is Stamped with an Individual Serial Number. This knife utilizes a 8 5/8" Spear blade. The blade is Damascus Steel with Boker Manufaktur Solingen etching. Damascus blades are made by welding/forging together a few hundred layers of hard and soft steel and then etch with acid. The acid dissolves the layers at different rates resulting in a visible pattern on the steel. The alternating layers give more flexibility and toughness to the steel, and the hard and soft in the edge act much like serrations and aid cutting. The beautiful patterns in Damascus blades are unmatched! The knife is presented in a Black, Boker Collector's Box with a Brown, Leather Belt Sheath.
